Policies 2026
At QC Canine Design, our goal is to provide a calm, one-on-one grooming experience for every pup in our care. We are a small, appointment-only boutique salon specializing in dogs 30 lbs & under, and the following guidelines help us maintain a peaceful environment, respect everyone’s time, and deliver consistent, high-quality grooming.
We truly appreciate your understanding and support
New Clients & Booking
New clients are asked to complete a brief inquiry or consultation prior to booking so we can ensure we’re the best fit for your dog.
For safety and comfort, we specialize in dogs without a bite history. If a dog’s behavior presents a safety concern, we may recommend alternative grooming options.
Our priority is always a positive, low-stress experience for both dogs and groomers.
Deposits
A small, non-refundable deposit is required for new clients and for clients returning after an extended absence.
The deposit is always applied toward your groom and allows us to reserve dedicated, uninterrupted time specifically for your dog
Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand that life happens and schedules can change.
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules.
Late cancellations may result in a fee.
One courtesy reschedule may be extended at our discretion.
This allows us to offer the appointment to another client and keep our schedule running smoothly.
Missed Appointments (No-Call / No-Show)
Missed appointments without notice impact our ability to care for other dogs.
No-call/no-show appointments may require prepayment for future bookings.
Repeated missed appointments may result in limited or discontinued booking availability.
Holiday Appointments (November–December)
Holiday appointments are limited and in very high demand.
Missed appointments without notice during the months of November and December may result in the inability to rebook during that holiday season.
This helps us ensure availability for families waiting during our busiest time of year. We truly appreciate your understanding.
Pick-Up Times
To help us maintain a calm and comfortable salon environment:
Once grooming is complete, we kindly ask that dogs are picked up within 1.5 hours.
A 30-minute courtesy notification is provided as your dog is nearing completion.
Extended stays beyond the 1.5-hour window may result in a daycare or handling fee.
Puppies & Senior Dogs
Because puppies and senior dogs can tire more easily and benefit from minimal downtime:
We kindly ask that puppies and senior dogs be picked up as soon as possible once grooming is complete.
This allows us to prioritize their comfort, reduce stress, and ensure the safest experience.
Grooming Philosophy
QC Canine Design is a recommendation-based grooming studio, not a high-volume salon.
Grooming frequency, haircut length, and maintenance plans are recommended by the groomer based on coat condition, lifestyle, and your dog’s comfort.
Longer trims on full or double-coated dogs require additional time, care, and ongoing maintenance.
Consistent grooming every 4–8 weeks is strongly encouraged for coat health and overall comfort.
Our goal is always what’s best for your dog — never rushed or stressful grooming.
